XREF plus+DBr is a powerful tool that enables you to comprehensively determine how your installation’s JCL or PROC libraries are using datasets, JOBs, programs, and PROCs.

It not only gives you a complete picture of the interrelationships of your JCL, programs, and datasets but it allows you to easily integrate other information with the information it provides.


COMPREHENSIVE DOCUMENTATION

XREFplus+DBr creates a DB2 database of the most important fields in XREFplus+. The database can be accessed through either ISPF or batch DB2 operations.

Retrieving the information you need is accomplished quickly and with considerable flexibility. The XREF plus+DBr ISPF interface provides easy access to the XREFplus+DBr database. It allows you to easily formulate queries to retrieve the data you require.		   From the main panel, you can access five different views of the database:
  • Datasets
  • JOB s
  • JOB Cards
  • Procedures
  • Programs
Each view can be accessed in two different ways for easy analysis.

You can customize each view to focus quickly on exactly the data you require.




DATA ACCESS AND PROBLEM CORRECTION

Locating the information you need is often only the first step. Often, further analysis is required.

From the ISPF interface, you can browse or edit the JOBs, PROC s, and datasets referenced in the database to quickly zero in on the data you need.

COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS, MULTIPLE MACHINES

Today’s data centers are complicated places. Companies may have several z/OS machines and LPARs in different locations. Keeping track of the details and interactions of these environments can be difficult and time consuming. XREFplus+DBr lets you combine information from any number of machines or images into one database, simplifying the task of understanding your environment.

EXTENDABLE, CUSTOMIZABLE INTERFACE

The XREFplus+DBr ISPF interface can be easily extended and customized to incorporate data related to your JCL. For example, you may have call lists associated with JOBs or JOB steps.
This data, and similar data can be easily incorporated into and accessed from the XREFplus+DBr ISPF interface.

XREFplus+DBr can be the focal point of production support activities.


  

DB2 UTILITIES

Because XREFplus+DBr is a DB2 database, it can be used with standard DB2 utilities and report generators.
